National Kidney foundation

The National Kidney Foundation’s Golf Classic is the nation’s premier amateur golf event for charity. Each year thousands of golfers from across the country participate for the exciting competition, valuable gifts, and the chance to win great prizes - all to benefit a worthy cause.

In 2007 PING was named national sponsor of the National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic, “the premier amateur golf event for charity”TM. PING's partnership includes support for over 60 local tournaments around the U.S. and contributions to the National Championship at Pebble Beach, California.

“As the recipient of kidney transplant, this partnership takes on a very special, personal meaning for me,” said PING Chairman & CEO John Solheim, who underwent a kidney transplant in June of 2004. “The work of the National Kidney Foundation has profound effects on thousands of lives every day. PING is proud to associate its name with an organization so dedicated to its cause. Golf brings joy to those who play the game in many ways. The National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic is a perfect example of the good golf brings to our society.”

In 2008 PING and Golf Digest Publications teamed up to support the National Kidney Foundation by creating an awareness campaign, PingFittedForLife.com.

Since the NKF Golf program's inception, more than 220,000 golfers have participated in National Kidney Foundation golf tournaments across the U.S., generating more than $70 million to help fight kidney disease.
